Deputy Care Home Manager

About the role

Excelcare Holdings is seeking a Deputy Care Home Manager to join the team at Brook House Care Home in Cambridge. You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure high‑quality residential, dementia, respite, end‑of‑life and day‑care services for 35 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support care and ancillary staff to deliver person‑centred care.
• Monitor and improve quality standards, recording outcomes and ensuring compliance with CQC regulations.
• Coach team members, promote independence, dignity and choice for residents.
• Assist with staffing rotas, shift coverage and day‑to‑day operational decisions.
• Participate in resident care planning and review meetings.

Required profile

• Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience in a nursing or care‑home setting for older people.
• Good knowledge of CQC regulations and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Understanding of health and social care standards.
• Ability to coach and develop staff.
• Competence in recording and analysing care outcomes.
