Deputy General Ledger Team Leader

About the role

Hilti is looking for a Deputy General Ledger Team Leader to join its Finance Shared Service Centre in Manchester. You will own the end‑to‑end general ledger processes for a market entity while supporting the growth and development of a team of GL accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of General Ledger accountants, driving performance and engagement.
• Take full ownership of GL processing for one market entity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyse financial data and provide clear insights to senior management for decision‑making.
• Partner with finance leadership and other stakeholders to align business decisions with accounting processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to raise efficiency, quality and service levels.
• Contribute to cross‑regional initiatives and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• CIMA or ACCA qualified (or part‑qualified with limited papers remaining).
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, tax and double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Proven team‑leadership or supervisory experience, including KPI monitoring and coaching.
• Experience in a shared‑service or multi‑entity environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially with senior management.
• High attention to detail, proactive, self‑reliant and a good team player.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
