Deputy Headteacher – SEND School (September Start)

About the role
The school is a specialist SEND setting supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. As Deputy Headteacher you will join a forward‑thinking leadership team to drive high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour from a September start.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Headteacher in strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of the school.
- Lead and monitor teaching quality, pupil progress and behaviour across all year groups.
- Oversee key improvement initiatives and ensure high‑quality provision for ASC, MLD and SEMH pupils.
- Develop and mentor teaching and support staff, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and behaviour management responsibilities.
- Work closely with families, external agencies and multi‑disciplinary teams.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a SEND school, either as Deputy Headteacher or Assistant Headteacher ready to step up.
- Strong understanding of ASC, MLD and SEMH provision.
- Demonstrated leadership and improvement skills.
- Commitment to inclusive, nurturing school culture.
