Deputy Home Manager – Luxury Retirement Home

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the Registered Manager in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care within a luxury residential retirement home. This full‑time position involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and fostering a warm, family‑focused environment for up to 28 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Manager in the overall management and smooth operation of the home.
• Lead, mentor and develop the care team through recruitment, training, supervision and appraisals.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and current Health & Social Care legislation.
• Create, review and maintain person‑centred care plans.
• Conduct pre‑admission assessments for prospective residents.
• Oversee medication management and safe administration procedures.
• Manage staffing levels and duty rotas to meet residents' needs.
• Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Support audits, quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Handle concerns and complaints professionally alongside the Registered Manager.
• Provide hands‑on leadership and support to the care team when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior care home management role.
• Strong knowledge of CQC standards and health & social care legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and motivate a multidisciplinary care team.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred, high‑quality care.
