Deputy Manager – Care Home

About the role
As Deputy Manager you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of person‑centred care in a residential care home in Dorchester. You will support day‑to‑day operations, safeguard resident wellbeing and step in for the manager when required.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of care, safeguarding and resident wellbeing.
- Develop and maintain individual care plans in line with CQC guidelines and company policy.
- Deliver hands‑on care to residents, responding to their preferences and needs.
- Report health concerns, arrange GP or professional visits, and ensure timely communication with head office.
- Assist with audits, policy implementation and compliance activities.
- Maintain health, safety and wellbeing standards for residents and staff.
- Help achieve optimal resident occupancy levels and support admission processes.
- Participate in regular training and promote a professional, friendly environment.
Required profile
- Experience working in a care home or similar health‑care setting.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and care planning best practice.
- Ability to deputise for the manager and make decisions in their absence.
- Strong communication with residents, families, health‑care professionals and head office.
