Deputy Manager – Children’s Home

About the role

We are seeking a Deputy Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality care in a newly opened 3‑bed children’s home in Crumpsall, Manchester. The role involves working with 8‑18‑year‑olds who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Work with young people and staff to develop strategies that reduce challenging behaviours and address triggers.
• Develop and implement therapeutic responses and care plans in line with CHR 2015 and the Children Act.
• Provide supervision, team‑building and leadership to ensure a positive, safe environment.
• On‑call duty to manage incidents, make timely decisions and escalate when necessary.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures, risk management and incident learning are followed.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 5 qualification (or in progress) in a relevant field.
• 12 months of supervisory experience and at least 24 months in a residential setting managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong knowledge of CHR 2015, QS, Equal Opportunities/ADP, Children Act and related legislation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
