Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

About the role

The Hamnet Way children’s residential home is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality care. You will provide visible leadership, ensure regulatory compliance and help drive continuous improvement for the benefit of children and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shifts and manage day‑to‑day service delivery, including staffing and operational priorities.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager and participate in the on‑call rota.
• Maintain Ofsted readiness through audits, quality assurance and policy implementation.
• Mentor, coach and develop staff, overseeing supervision and performance management.
• Promote a strong safeguarding culture and support trauma‑informed, individualised care for children.

Required profile

• Experience in children’s residential care and team leadership.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: prior Deputy Manager experience, Level 5 qualification, inspection support experience.
