Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

About the role

A great opportunity to join an established, growing care company that provides residential live‑in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The team is dedicated to teaching life‑skills and offering emotional support to help children become well‑rounded members of the community.

Key responsibilities

• Live on‑site in a children’s residential home in Wallasey, working a 2‑day/2‑night shift pattern followed by 4 days off.
• Support boys and girls aged 6‑16 with daily routines – breakfast, dressing, school drop‑offs, washing, cooking dinner, bathing and bedtime.
• Create staff rotas, lead the support team, ensure care plans are followed and assist the manager in running the home.

Required profile

• Residence in or around Wallasey and a full UK driving licence (access to a house car is provided).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (essential); Level 5 qualification or enrolment is a major advantage.
• Proven experience working within a residential child‑care framework.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £16.25 (Level 3) or £17.78 (Level 5) plus £60 per sleep‑in.
• Additional 16 paid hours per month for paperwork and 224 holiday hours per year (extra 2 days after 2 years).
• Bank holidays paid at 1.5×, private health care, a strong support network with further training, and mileage reimbursement at 40p per mile.
