Deputy Room Manager – Early Years

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Deputy Room Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality early years care and education in a welcoming nursery near Edenbridge. You will work closely with the Room Manager to ensure a safe, stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Room Manager with daily operations and administrative tasks.
• Lead the room and maintain standards in the manager’s absence.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Mentor and motivate Early Years Practitioners.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
• Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting.
• Experience as a Room Leader or senior practitioner is desirable.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Organised, caring and passionate about delivering outstanding childcare.
• Team‑player who leads by example.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
