Deputy Safeguarding Lead

About the role

The Deputy Safeguarding Lead supports Brooklands College in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for students. Working from the Weybridge campus, you will help implement safeguarding policies and provide guidance to learners facing challenges. This fixed‑term position runs until December 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Provide support and advice to students, including those with special educational needs.
• Liaise with external agencies and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for learners.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions on safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Develop action plans to address identified risks and promote a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience in a safeguarding or related role within education.
• Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for supporting young people and promoting their wellbeing.
