Deputy Service Manager

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for a compassionate and proactive leader who will help shape high‑quality accommodation and support services for young people at risk of homelessness in Manchester.

Key responsibilities

• Deputise for the Service Manager during absences, attending monitoring and contract review meetings with commissioners.
• Manage service delivery at Safestop and Burnage Lane, including line‑management of staff teams.
• Produce internal and external reports and ensure health and safety compliance with housing association and landlord obligations.
• Maintain high standards of support for young people and effective housing management, working to KPI targets.
• Promote safeguarding practices and uphold a safe environment for vulnerable youth.
• Represent the service externally, raising its profile within Manchester City and liaising with partners.

Required profile

• Significant management experience, including supervising teams and individuals.
• Proven ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
• Strong background in safeguarding, risk management, and supporting vulnerable young people.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
