Design Coordinator – Timber Fire Doors

About the role

The Design Coordinator – Timber Fire Doors will lead the design and coordination of high‑end fire door systems for a range of construction projects. Working closely with architects, specifiers, contractors and project managers, you will ensure door solutions meet client expectations, regulatory standards and project budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Review enquiry packs, drawings, surveys and schedules to understand project requirements.
• Develop compliant timber fire door system designs and produce detailed door schedules, drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with the project team to align designs with client expectations and industry standards.
• Prioritise workload to meet customer deadlines on projects ranging from £10k to £1m.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure schedule compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Designer, Design Coordinator or Project Coordinator within the timber fire door sector.
• Strong knowledge of timber fire doors, field of applications, EXAPS and product listings.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and produce compliant designs.
• Highly organised, ambitious and ready to take ownership of projects.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software) – essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience creating door schedules and technical drawings.
