Design Engineer – Electrical, Mechanical & Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical, mechanical and building services engineering to join a leading engineering consultancy. The role offers autonomy, a varied project portfolio and clear progression pathways, including specialist funded training.

Key responsibilities

• Attend project meetings on‑site and off‑site with clients, contractors and design teams.
• Create detailed scheme designs to support competitive tendering.
• Write comprehensive specifications for electrical and building services works.
• Manage project budgets to ensure financial success.
• Oversee snagging and completion of works during construction and installation phases.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent M&E/building services experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven experience in project or design engineering within the building services sector.
