Design Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical (SolidWorks)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Design Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing R&D team in Thame, Oxfordshire. You will work on both electrical and mechanical design projects, creating detailed CAD models and supporting product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical product requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to support sourcing, quality control and manufacturing processes.
• Assist product development and innovation activities, including the use of a 3D printer and external suppliers.
• Work closely with the design team to deliver bespoke solutions that meet customer specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical design engineering.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related design discipline is desirable.
• Resident within a commutable distance to Thame, Oxfordshire.
• Proficiency with 3D modelling software, ideally SolidWorks; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and electrical board wiring is advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary range £36,000 – £46,000, dependent on experience.
• Permanent, full‑time role – Monday to Friday, 37.5‑hour week.
