Design Engineer – Heavy Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join a leading global manufacturer in Northern Ireland. The role involves creating and developing heavy‑equipment products from concept through to production, working within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with manufacturing, production and supply‑chain teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Perform design calculations and analysis to validate performance and safety requirements.
• Manage design changes and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
• Assist with prototype builds and testing activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in product design within a manufacturing or heavy‑engineering environment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience with finite‑element analysis or other design analysis tools (desirable).
