Design Engineer – River Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our River Infrastructure team in Bristol. You will work on civil and river engineering projects for high‑profile clients such as the Environment Agency and Severn Trent, delivering safe, buildable designs from feasibility through to detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil and river infrastructure designs from concept to detailed design.
• Review client briefs and propose alternative solutions where appropriate.
• Coordinate design activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Kier SHEMS, and internal QMS standards.
• Contribute to value engineering, fee proposals, and programme delivery.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Post‑graduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similar infrastructure.
• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g., CEng, MICE).
• Experience in a consultancy or contractor‑led design environment.
