Design Engineer – Rotary Aircraft (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our aviation structures team on a six‑month contract. The role focuses on the design and development of structural components for rotary‑wing aircraft, supporting high‑profile aerospace projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop structural components and assemblies for rotary‑wing aircraft.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Conduct design reviews, assess stress considerations and evaluate modifications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and production teams to ensure design integrity and compliance.
• Support documentation and certification activities in line with aerospace standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in rotary aircraft or aerospace structural design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of aerospace materials, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight project timelines.
• Based in or able to commute to the Yeovil area.
