Design Manager – Civil Design for Power & Energy

About the role

The Resolute Group is partnering with a Tier 1 contractor’s Power and Energy division to recruit a Design Manager for its Glasgow office. You will act as the technical bridge between design consultants, the main contractor and the client (Scottish Power/SSEN) on a £3 billion portfolio of projects across Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical interface ensuring designs are compliant, coordinated and buildable.
• Manage and coordinate multi‑disciplinary design teams from optioneering through detailed design and construction support.
• Ensure compliance with Scottish Power/SSE/SSEN standards, regulatory requirements and CDM regulations.
• Lead design risk and constructability reviews, managing design changes and technical queries.
• Implement robust quality‑assurance processes and approve design deliverables.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Post‑graduation experience as a design coordinator on heavy civil projects (highways, rail, water, flood defence, etc.) or as a design engineer seeking progression to management.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and residence in the UK.

What we offer

• Salary £60,000‑£65,000 per year (basic) plus car, bonus and benefits package.
• Hybrid working model – 3 days on‑site/office, 2 days remote.
