Design Manager Designate – Progression to Head of Design

About the role

Join a leading contract‑furniture manufacturer as a Design Manager Designate. You will start as a Designer, learn the role, shadow the Head of Design and ultimately step into the Acting Design Manager position before taking full responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate production drawings and technical documentation for bespoke and batch‑manufactured furniture.
• Create detailed Works Order documentation using Excel.
• Prepare client approval drawings and manage space‑planning/3D visualisations.
• Process client orders through to manufacture while meeting tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Organised, accurate and deadline‑driven.
• Strong technical and practical design abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good leadership potential.
