Design Technology Teacher

About the role

Reed Education is seeking a dynamic Design Technology Teacher to start in September at a secondary school in Lancaster. This full‑time position is on a long‑term, temporary basis and offers the chance to work across several schools in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Design Technology lessons for KS3, KS4 and, where possible, KS5.
• Create an engaging and safe learning environment that encourages student participation.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain high standards of discipline.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the curriculum.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Recent experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to safeguarding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
