About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology teacher to join a well‑established secondary department in Hertfordshire. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons in Design & Technology for KS3‑4 (and KS5 where appropriate).
- Foster creativity, innovation and problem‑solving skills in students.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the Design & Technology department.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to raising achievement and supporting student progress.
- Product Design or Resistant Materials specialism desirable, though all D&T specialists will be considered.
