Desk Loss Adjuster

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Desk Loss Adjuster to join a well‑established claims management organisation that is expanding its loss adjusting practice. The role is fully remote, with quarterly visits to our head office in Newcastle upon Tyne, travel costs covered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a personal portfolio of property damage claims from inception to settlement, including the repair stage.
• Liaise with insurers, policyholders, contractors, third‑party surveyors and other stakeholders via email and telephone.
• Gather and assess evidence (photos, videos) to determine liability and build detailed scopes of work.
• Negotiate cash settlements and oversee the repair process.
• Handle a range of general perils such as fire, flood, water escape, storm damage and impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a full portfolio of property claims across all general perils.
• Ability to create accurate scopes of work from visual evidence.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working fully remote.
• Background in insurance claims, contracting, housing or maintenance environments.
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., BDMA, Cert CILA) are advantageous.
