About the role

Join a leading financial services organisation as a Desktop Support Engineer based in Central London. You will be a key member of the IT team, delivering responsive first‑line and second‑line support to colleagues across the business and ensuring a smooth end‑user technology experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide first‑line and second‑line support for Windows devices, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain hardware, ensuring security and up‑to‑date software.
  • Support inductions, onboarding and training for new joiners.
  • Manage assets, device imaging and mobile device management via Intune.
  • Maintain meeting room technology, webinars and Teams Calling setups.
  • Document procedures, create knowledge‑base articles and participate in IT drop‑in days.
  • Take part in an out‑of‑hours support rota and occasional travel to other offices.
  • Assist with network testing, patching, cabling and office IT management.
  • Explore and support emerging technologies such as Microsoft Copilot and AI tools.

Required profile

  • Proven experience delivering high‑quality end‑user support in a corporate environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows devices and familiarity with enterprise security tools.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with excellent documentation and knowledge‑sharing abilities.
  • Proactive attitude and a genuine drive to learn new technologies.

  • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Teams Calling and 8x8 telephony solutions
  • Web filtering, DLP, antivirus and SSO technologies
  • Zendesk or similar service‑desk platforms
  • Azure administration
  • Power BI and Power Platform support
  • PowerShell scripting for centralized management
  • Cisco meeting room technology
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot and AI technologies
