Despatch Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Despatch Coordinator to manage the end‑to‑end movement of customer orders for a high‑precision manufacturing business in Plymouth. You will ensure shipments are prepared, documented and dispatched efficiently, working closely with production, sales, customers and logistics partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate customer shipments from order receipt through to dispatch.
• Prepare shipping paperwork, export documentation and customer invoices.
• Arrange transport and courier collections, liaising with freight providers.
• Update customers and internal teams on shipment progress and delivery requirements.
• Process export documentation such as Certificates of Origin and ATR certificates.
• Support loading operations, handle returns and maintain accurate shipping records.
• Ensure all dispatch activities comply with site procedures and health & safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in logistics, dispatch, shipping or export administration.
• Good knowledge of export documentation and customs requirements.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP (advantageous).
