Development Building Surveyor (Latent Defects)

About the role
We are looking for a Development Building Surveyor specialising in latent defects to join our team based around Birmingham and the M5 corridor. This junior‑level position is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals seeking hands‑on experience in structural defects and building pathology.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and investigate structural and latent defect cases across commercial, residential and multi‑unit properties.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for clients.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
- Travel regionally while working primarily from home.
Required profile
- Degree‑level qualification (or working towards one) in surveying, construction or engineering.
- Early‑career professional or recent graduate.
- Interest in pursuing chartered status (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
