Development Solicitor – Residential Development Law

About the role

Join a leading international law firm in Leeds as a Development Solicitor, advising major housebuilders, landowners and affordable‑housing providers on high‑value residential development and investment projects. You will work within a dynamic real‑estate team, developing your legal expertise while delivering commercially focused advice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residential development transactions from instruction through to completion.
• Draft and negotiate conditional contracts, transfers, option agreements and development agreements.
• Advise clients on rights of pre‑emption, collaboration agreements and other property documentation.
• Support high‑value residential projects and maintain long‑term client relationships.
• Assist senior colleagues on complex, strategic matters and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 2‑6 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Background in residential development, commercial property or real‑estate work.
• Confident in managing transactions with appropriate supervision.
• Commercially aware with strong client‑relationship skills.
• Proactive team player with excellent communication.

Required skills
