Development Team Lead

About the role

tmGroup is modernising conveyancing with award‑winning technology. We are looking for a Development Team Lead to own one of our core engineering teams, guiding it through a period of rapid growth while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that built it.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and coach a small offshore development team (3‑5 members), running regular check‑ins and fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Contribute hands‑on code, review pull requests and set technical standards for the team.
• Plan, prioritise and manage delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and other cross‑functional teams to shape solutions and act as the primary technical point of contact.
• Engage with customers when needed, providing technical insight and representing the team in stakeholder discussions.
• Champion good coding practices, testing, and documentation, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software development teams, preferably with offshore members.
• Strong hands‑on development background with the ability to write and review code.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and customer interaction.
• Ability to bring structure and process to a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment.
