DevOps Engineer – Azure & Automation

About the role

Our Manchester‑based client is expanding rapidly and needs a skilled DevOps Engineer to optimise and scale their Azure‑based infrastructure. You will lead automation, security and performance initiatives across the software development lifecycle in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Automate build, test, deployment and infrastructure provisioning processes.
• Manage Azure resources with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Support applications running in Azure App Services, Function Apps and related services.
• Integrate automated testing, code quality and security tools such as SonarCloud and Snyk.
• Set up monitoring and incident response using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Manage secrets and access controls to ensure secure cloud practices.
• Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash or Python).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerisation.
• Version control experience with Git or Azure Repos.
• Understanding of Agile/Lean methodologies.
• Familiarity with code quality and security tooling.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented mindset.
