DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join DWP Digital, the technology arm of the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions. You will work within multi‑disciplinary agile teams to design, build and run cloud‑native services that support millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, deploy and configure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code with reusable modules and design patterns.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, integration and deployment across environments.
• Create, secure and maintain container images for automated deployment pipelines and production workloads.
• Manage large‑scale containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Helm.
• Utilise observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing) and automated testing to monitor system health and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with researchers, testers, architects, analysts and designers in agile delivery teams.
• Share technical knowledge and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in agile, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated improvement mindset and proactive knowledge sharing.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on‑site collaboration.
