DevOps Engineer

About the role

This is a free training course that can lead to a DevOps Engineer position with one of our client companies. The role is remote within the UK, with one day per fortnight required on site in London or Manchester. Upon successful completion of the 16‑week part‑time course you will be ready to start the role.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain robust GitOps CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Helm and ArgoCD.
• Develop and optimise infrastructure as code with Terraform across hybrid cloud environments.
• Support containerisation and migration of legacy batch workloads to Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Ensure delivery pipelines follow AWS best practices for scalability, security and high availability.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to streamline version control, manage artifact registries and reduce deployment friction.

Required profile

• At least 1.5 years of experience in a technology‑focused role using Python.
• Ability to pass a technical assessment in Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Commitment to complete a 16‑week part‑time training program to develop mid‑level DevOps skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Helm, ArgoCD, Flux or Jenkins.
• Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes and preferably Red Hat OpenShift.
• Automation scripting skills in Bash, Python or Go.
• Practical knowledge of public, private or hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, IBM Cloud, GCP, Azure).
• Collaborative DevOps mindset with experience working at the intersection of development and operations.
