DevOps Engineer – Voice (Remote, UK)

About the role

While primarily remote, this role may require occasional visits to the Bristol or London office. We are looking for a proactive DevOps Engineer with experience building, maintaining, and operating Linux‑based infrastructure at scale, passionate about automation and efficiency in a collaborative multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with fellow DevOps engineers and development teams to deploy and maintain application infrastructure.
• Assist in the development and support of tooling to streamline deployment and maintenance of products.
• Work with GitHub, Jenkins, and Chef to deploy applications from development through production.
• Support both in‑house and third‑party applications, handling deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Build and manage automation pipelines for application deployment and maintenance.
• Engage in day‑to‑day management of Linux servers via the command line.
• Create monitoring dashboards and alerts in Grafana using Prometheus and Alertmanager.
• Document processes and best practices clearly and concisely.
• Participate in incident resolution as part of an on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the Linux operating system and comfort working at the command line.
• Experience with Chef or other configuration‑management tools to automate server and application provisioning.
• Ability to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, including DNS, TCP/UDP, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Willingness to dive into both complex systems and routine tasks to ensure smooth operation.
• Foundational knowledge of security best practices.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python, or Go.
