Diagnostic Vehicle Technician – Automotive Service

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join a reputable dealership in the Greater Manchester area. The role involves using advanced diagnostic tools to assess, repair and maintain modern vehicles while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed diagnostic assessments using manufacturer‑standard equipment.
• Carry out electrical and electronic diagnostics, including eVHC procedures.
• Execute repairs, maintenance and routine servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Complete accurate job cards and documentation using digital systems.
• Maintain a clean, organised workshop and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Provide clear explanations of findings and repair recommendations to customers.

Required profile

• Level 3 automotive qualification (e.g., IMI, City & Guilds) or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician in a motor‑trade environment.
• Strong diagnostic abilities with knowledge of modern vehicle systems.
• MOT licence desirable (training can be provided).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous professional development.
