Dietitian – NHS Ayrshire & Arran

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking two qualified Dietitians to join the North Community Dietetic Team at Ayrshire Central Hospital. These permanent posts will support adults with complex rehabilitation and long‑term health needs, delivering high‑quality specialist dietetic services in a collaborative, caring environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist dietetic assessment and evidence‑based treatment for adults with multiple health conditions.
• Manage a diverse caseload autonomously, creating and adapting individual nutrition care plans.
• Offer expert input across areas such as malnutrition, diabetes, neurological conditions, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, and dysphagia.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated care and safe discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audit, service improvement, and governance activities.
• Support day‑to‑day service delivery, including supervision of junior staff and students.
• Deliver education and training to patients, carers, and other health and social care professionals.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Dietetics (or equivalent).
• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
• Essential UK driving licence.
