Director of Construction – £150k‑£175k

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead a portfolio of high‑value projects exceeding £500 million. Based in our London office, you will work for a nationally recognised contractor with a turnover of over £1 billion, delivering mixed‑use residential, commercial and student accommodation schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, pre‑construction and delivery of large‑scale, high‑rise schemes.
• Coordinate with architects, subcontractors and client teams to ensure design intent and programme alignment.
• Maintain compliance with current building regulations and industry standards.
• Manage budgets, schedules and risk registers for projects ranging from £50 million to £300 million.
• Lead and develop on‑site construction teams to achieve quality, safety and performance targets.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a senior construction role with a recognised main contractor.
• Stable work history demonstrating progressive responsibility on multi‑million‑pound projects.
• Strong understanding of planning, pre‑construction processes and regulatory frameworks.
