Director of Data and AI

About the role

We are looking for a strategic Director of Data and AI to lead and empower our Data and AI teams. The role combines senior leadership with deep technical expertise, shaping how data, analytics, machine learning and generative AI drive business outcomes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary Data and AI team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and innovation.
• Define and execute a Data and AI strategy aligned with company goals and partner with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Risk, Commercial and Finance.
• Ensure reliable, scalable, secure and governed data and AI platforms, establishing metrics for impact, data quality and model performance.
• Drive best practices in data engineering, analytics, machine learning, data governance and responsible AI.
• Support career development, mentoring and succession planning within the team.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading Data, Analytics, Machine Learning or AI teams, preferably in a fintech environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, prioritising investment and optimising data and AI costs.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
