Director of Finance Transaction Services

About the role

We are partnering with a major UK organisation that is investing heavily in transformation. The role offers a unique chance to lead a large Finance Transaction Services function, shape finance operations and drive continuous improvement across a high‑performing business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing finance operations team covering Record‑to‑Report (R2R) and Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) functions.
• Oversee month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany accounting and statutory reporting support.
• Manage efficient Procure‑to‑Pay processes, including supplier payments, invoice processing and query handling.
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate finance processes.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, controls and customer experience.
• Establish and monitor KPIs, performance metrics and service levels.
• Partner with senior finance stakeholders, operational leaders and external auditors.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a proven track record leading sizeable finance teams.
• Significant leadership experience in finance operations, shared services or transaction services environments.
• Strong expertise in Record‑to‑Report and/or Procure‑to‑Pay processes.
• Excellent knowledge of financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Experience delivering change, transformation and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Passion for developing people and building high‑performing teams.
