Director of Project Management (Birmingham)

About the role

An established consultancy is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead its expansion in the West Midlands and shape a new regional presence. The role offers autonomy to develop the Birmingham operation, win new business and build a high‑performing project management team.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business development by leveraging existing contacts to generate and convert project management opportunities across residential, commercial, hotel and mixed‑use sectors.
• Define and grow the Birmingham office, identifying key hires, recruiting talent and establishing a local delivery team.
• Influence regional growth strategy, including target sectors, client acquisition, recruitment plans and partnership development.
• Strengthen the consultancy’s profile with developers, investors and major property clients throughout the Midlands.

Required profile

• Established client network across Birmingham and the Midlands.
• Proven ability to win project‑management consultancy work.
• Significant consultancy‑side project management experience, preferably at director or senior leadership level.
• Experience in residential, commercial, hotel or mixed‑use property sectors.
• Strong relationships with developers, investors and built‑environment stakeholders.
• Track record of recruiting, managing and developing professional teams.
• Relevant degree in construction, property or project management.
• Professional qualification such as MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or equivalent.
• Commercial awareness and business‑development expertise.
