Director of Sales

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing Direct Mail business based in Devon, is seeking an experienced and personable Director of Sales to lead their UK sales operation. Based in a vibrant office of 80 staff with free parking, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the UK sales strategy in line with the Group’s overall business objectives.
• Set a clear vision, mission and measurable targets for the UK sales team.
• Identify new market opportunities and commercial initiatives.
• Report directly to the Group CRO, providing market intelligence and risk assessments.
• Lead a coaching‑focused culture, supporting team members to meet targets and develop their careers.
• Own and continuously optimise the UK sales playbook.
• Drive sales growth, customer retention, expansion and new logo acquisition.
• Define and evolve customer expansion and retention strategies.
• Oversee the regional sales organisation, set targets and embed effective methodologies.
• Build senior relationships with key clients, channel partners and strategic alliances.
• Partner with the CRO to develop go‑to‑market strategies for the UK.
• Collaborate with the Group marketing team on UK marketing budget deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a sales team of at least 5‑10 members.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue targets in a B2B environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a data‑driven approach to market analysis.
• Ability to inspire, coach and develop high‑performing sales talent.
