Director of Supply Chain Planning

About the role

The Director of Supply Chain Planning will be based in Holborn, central London, reporting to senior leadership of a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) organisation. This pivotal role drives the end‑to‑end planning agenda, aligning demand, supply and operational capacity to deliver superior customer service, optimise inventory and support data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the monthly S&OP and supply‑chain planning processes, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
• Align commercial demand with operational capability through robust planning and decision‑making.
• Prepare strategic scenarios, capacity assessments and risk analyses for executive leadership.
• Drive a consensus‑based business plan across commercial, operational and financial functions.
• Manage customer‑service and demand‑planning teams to deliver accurate forecasts and high service levels.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement and logistics to translate forecasts into effective supply and production plans while managing inventory levels.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, optimise working capital and support portfolio optimisation.
• Champion continuous improvement and lead supply‑chain transformation initiatives.
• Inspire, develop and retain a high‑performance, multi‑disciplinary planning team.

Required profile

• Extensive leadership experience in supply‑chain planning, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proven track record of managing S&OP processes and delivering strategic business plans.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to develop scenarios, capacity models and risk assessments.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across commercial, operational and financial teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop high‑performing planning teams.
