Director, Research and Insights

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Research and Insights to lead the translation of complex payments, banking and fintech research into clear, strategic narratives. This senior, writing‑focused position will shape how the organization communicates innovation and thought leadership across the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research on emerging technology and payments trends.
• Produce high‑quality outputs such as published reports, executive briefings and presentations for senior leaders.
• Develop strong points of view and compelling narratives that are decision‑ready.
• Collaborate closely with subject‑matter experts and communications partners.
• Ensure all insights are clear, relevant and aligned with Mastercard’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Exceptional writer and communicator with deep knowledge of payments, banking and fintech innovation.
• Proven experience creating long‑form thought‑leadership and executive‑level content.
• Strong editorial judgement and ability to distil ambiguity into clear perspectives.
• Comfortable engaging senior leaders and shaping insights collaboratively.
