Dispatcher – Energy Network Operations

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Dispatcher to join Cadent’s fast‑moving Dispatch Centre in Coventry. The Dispatcher acts as the central hub between field engineers, customers and internal operational teams, ensuring that service jobs are allocated promptly and run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate jobs to engineers manually or via dispatch software, adhering to company policies and service standards.
• Communicate with engineers and customers to confirm job status, resolve issues and provide real‑time support.
• Monitor and prioritise time‑sensitive or high‑priority jobs (jeopardies) to maintain operational efficiency.
• Use dispatch systems and tools to optimise resource allocation and scheduling.
• Escalate operational problems to Network Supervisors and provide feedback on resourcing challenges.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure while handling a high volume of calls.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Logical problem‑solving capability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Computer literacy and ability to learn dispatch software quickly.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £15.72 for weeks 1‑16, rising to £17.50 from week 17 (including a 26 % shift uplift).
• PAYE contract paid weekly, one week in arrears.
• Full‑time onsite role at Ansty Park, Coventry.
• 12‑month fixed‑term assignment with the possibility of permanent placement.
