Dispensing Optician Store Manager

About the role

Specsavers in Hitchin is seeking a GOC‑qualified Dispensing Optician to lead its busy store. You will combine clinical expertise with strong people‑management skills to deliver a customer‑first experience and drive store performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow across seven testing rooms.
• Lead, coach and develop a close‑knit team of opticians and support staff.
• Maintain high standards of eye‑care service and product dispensing.
• Manage inventory, scheduling and compliance with health‑care regulations.
• Drive sales targets while upholding the brand’s quality and reputation.

Required profile

• BSc (Hons) in Ophthalmic Dispensing or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience managing an optical retail team.
• Strong communication, listening and organisational abilities.
• Passionate, adaptable and detail‑oriented.
