Distribution Site Technician

About the role

This permanent position is based at the Westfield Distribution Centre in Cumbernauld. You will be the first line of technical support, handling both planned and reactive maintenance to keep the site operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) according to schedule and complete all required paperwork.
• Respond promptly to service calls from the Helpdesk, diagnose issues and perform repairs.
• Maintain fire alarm systems and conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
• Process purchase orders and log material spending.
• Identify non‑repairable faults, advise the Line Manager and recommend replacements.
• Complete compliance documentation and keep it up to date.
• Provide technical advice to on‑site managers and produce survey reports as required.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota and attend training to stay current with technical developments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site or plant maintenance within a distribution or industrial environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet response time targets.
• Strong attention to health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Good communication skills to liaise with customers, managers and colleagues.
