Divisional Clinical Lead

About the role

The Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse will oversee the quality and person‑centred care across Barchester’s Hospitals and Complex Care division, covering six hospitals and eight care homes in England. You will lead a national clinical team, working closely with the Regional Director, Home Managers and senior staff to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate and develop a national team of clinical staff.
• Collaborate with Regional Director, Home Managers and senior clinicians to implement action plans.
• Monitor and improve care standards across hospitals and care homes.
• Address issues related to patients detained under the Mental Health Act and those with organic/hereditary mental health conditions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Mental Health Act 1983 Code of Practice.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and ongoing CPD.
• Experience in both care home and hospital settings.
• Previous role as a clinical mentor.
• Strong knowledge of current regulatory standards and the Mental Health Act 1983.
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate insights into action.
