Document Controller – Construction Project

About the role

We are looking for a structured, highly motivated Document Controller to manage all project documentation for a multi‑million‑pound construction development in Middlesbrough. You will act as the backbone of information management, ensuring technical drawings, compliance data and sub‑contractor submissions are accurately processed and distributed.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee receipt, tracking, logging and distribution of all project documents, drawings and specifications.
• Maintain an organised digital filing system using Tier 1 Common Data Environments (CDE).
• Ensure documents follow strict numbering, revision control and quality standards to preserve an audit trail.
• Serve as the central point of contact for site managers, engineers, sub‑contractors and client representatives.
• Produce regular document status reports highlighting approvals and overdue actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in document control within commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance procedures and handover documentation standards.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities to manage high volumes of data under tight deadlines.
• Relevant document control certification (e.g., Convero) is highly advantageous.
