Domestic Assistant

About the role

Join the Support Services team at St Andrews Community Hospital as a Domestic Assistant. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment across wards and other hospital departments during the afternoon shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties in patient wards, corridors, and clinical areas.
• Ensure all surfaces, floors, and equipment are hygienically maintained.
• Follow infection‑control procedures and use supplied PPE correctly.
• Work primarily between 3 pm and 8 pm, with occasional weekend coverage.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisory team.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and reliable work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo full training on hospital cleaning standards.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
• Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to start.
