Domestic Electrician

About the role

An established property services and maintenance contractor is looking for a qualified Domestic Electrician to join its permanent team in Basildon. You will work across residential properties, delivering high‑quality electrical repairs, testing, inspection and installation in a customer‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, inspection and installation works.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely, meeting first‑time‑fix targets.
• Ensure all work complies with the latest BS7671 (18th Edition) regulations.
• Record job details using PDA/mobile technology.
• Adhere to health & safety policies and attend toolbox talks, team meetings and technical briefings.
• Provide excellent customer service within occupied homes.
• Manage materials efficiently and complete tasks within agreed timescales.
• Work both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months).
• Gold ECS Card (or actively pursuing one).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) knowledge.
• Electrical testing qualification(s).
• Proven experience (2391) in a similar electrical maintenance or installation role.
• One of the following qualifications: Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services, Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment, City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory and Practice Part 2, or Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology.
