Domestic Laundry Assistant – Care Home

About the role

Join our caring team at Hawkhurst Residential Home in Blackburn, providing dignified laundry support for 26 residents with diverse health needs. This permanent, onsite position ensures residents receive high‑quality laundry services in a respectful and safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process residents' personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard.
• Apply thermal disinfection and strict infection‑control procedures where required.
• Iron and press laundry items, ensuring they are in good repair.
• Maintain clean, tidy laundry areas, equipment, and linen cupboards, monitoring stock levels.
• Report any damaged items to the Hotel Services Manager or Care Home Manager.
• Follow health and safety protocols and report any risks promptly.
• Provide courteous service to residents, families, colleagues, and visitors.
• Undertake any reasonable additional duties as directed by management.
