Domestic Supervisor – Part‑time (Lothian University Hospitals)

About the role

The Domestic Supervisor will lead the day‑to‑day organisation of domestic services across designated areas of the Lothian University Hospitals Division. This part‑time position ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors while operating within budgetary limits and quality improvement guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate domestic services in assigned hospital zones.
• Monitor and maintain service quality, adhering to NHS standards and quality improvement recommendations.
• Manage budgets and resources to deliver efficient domestic operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and infection‑control policies.
• Maintain PVG Scheme membership records and complete required disclosures.
• Support and supervise domestic staff, including scheduling and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Previous experience in domestic services, facilities management or a similar supervisory role.
• Understanding of NHS policies, quality standards and budget management.
• Current PVG Scheme membership for the relevant regulatory group, or willingness to obtain it.
