Donor Assistant – Part‑time (South West)

About the role

Pet Blood Bank UK is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its collection team as Donor Assistants across the South‑West. Working on Saturdays and Sundays, you will help facilitate life‑saving blood donations from dogs at various venues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinary staff with health checks, blood collection and post‑donation care.
• Hold donors safely during the donation process.
• Run basic blood tests and manage related paperwork.
• Reset and tidy the donation room between donors.
• Build rapport with dog owners to ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain good relationships with host venues and communicate with regional staff.
• Attend promotional events to recruit new donors and volunteers.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and customer‑care skills.
• Team‑player with a proactive, organised attitude.
• Experience with animal care; a qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays and travel across the region.
• Ideal for students, newly qualified veterinary nurses or anyone with a passion for dogs.
